Nafas - The Breath
In this work, Maaida celebrates the mathematical brilliance of traditional Syrian architectural heritage through the classic 12-pointed star motif. Rooted in historic monuments across the region, this intricate geometric pattern is carefully reconstructed as a tribute to the intellectual mastery of traditional craftsmen who transformed symmetry, proportion, and repetition into a visual expression of Divine order. Through precise yet poetic structure, Maaida’s composition reflects the harmony between mathematics, art, and sacred design, honouring the timeless legacy of Islamic geometric craftsmanship. This design was created for The Date Project for the Box for Syria Tin 2020 collection.
