A mural commemorates the Arab Spring for the definitive Middle East broadcaster.

Commemorating the Arab Spring Through Her Brush

The Middle East's illustrious broadcaster, Al Jazeera, invited Maaida to design and paint a mural commemorating the Arab Spring for the special documentary 'The Listening Post | Ten Years After the Arab Spring.'

The three metre by nine metre mural features Maaida's signature calligraphy and depictions of key factors and players in these pro-democracy protests: social media, the people's call for justice, and language.

The mural was painted over the course of three days and the process was filmed by the Al Jazeera team.
